Richard, who often spoke of his father as his “hero,” celebrated Homer’s 100th birthday at a restaurant in May 2022. Despite Richard’s recent health scare in Mexico, where he was diagnosed with pneumonia, he was released after a night of monitoring in the hospital. Richard Gere has not publicly commented on his father’s death.
