NCIS David McCallum’s final scene before death – as show bosses hoped for Duckie return

NCIS star David McCallum, the last original cast member, passed away at 90 due to natural causes. His final iconic scene in the season 20 finale featured a pivotal dialogue.

In the episode, he revealed a terrorist group’s plan for a “Black Sky event” via a video link. Although his character had reduced on-screen appearances, NCIS bosses hinted at a possible return for him. Executive producer Charles Floyd Johnson mentioned that David, now 90, might return for a few episodes but acknowledged it was getting challenging for him.
